DOS Palmtop: Elox Mini PC Details and specs

Elox Mini PC

About this machine:

An italian Memorex Commuter Computer Clone. Same specs as the Memorex and pretty nice branding. Only difference i see is that the left side comes with a proprietary port for the external floppy and the serial port is on the right side. Otherwise identical to the Memorex, it even comes with the US keyboard. I guess Italians were never meant to get localized editions of palmtops.

Pros:
- Full size serial and parallel port
- Fully CGA compliant, so most CGA based DOS appz and games work
- Excellent keyboard

Cons:
- PCMCIA Type I won't let you access any flash cards
- Not really the smallest Palmtop ever
- Power management is rather average
- Slow performance
- Small Memory
- Only one PCMCIA slot

Collector Value:
9 of 10

Usage Value:
7 of 10

Verdict:
Slow and big if compared to the HP 200LX. If you don't care about speed and definitely want full size ports you can give it a usability value of 10/10. I have never seen it in the wild - which i can however say for all Italian palmtops.
