Memories of the NEC Mobio NX

Yesterday I played around with one of my NEC Mobio NX MB12C/UDA1. So I thought I'd shed some light into the murky world of Mobio NX models. SO at first here comes the model overview: mobioNX MB12C / UD This is the first model and UD means they come with an old fashioned DSTN display. Intel Mobile MM...

Re: CF as a harddrive - important info

Hmmm, maybe one day it will have more people. I lack the time to post 1337 content all the time, but so far we got quite a lot - so google will show it on some ocassions. Yeah CF as an SSD - pretty cheap, pretty effective. At least for the Toshiba Libretto this is kinda standard. For the IBM PC 110 ...

UMID MBook M1 flaws

OK so here's some ranting about the M1... - Battery killer. Yeah even when shut down properly the MBook M1 (and all OEM variants) consume some battery. Yeah totally legit, but the MBook M1 does not have any mechanism to prevent a deep discharge. That means if you leave your M1 unattended in the shel...

Ranting, Tips and Tricks about the Aigo

After living and fumbling a lot with the Aigos I have tried to collect some thoughts about them and what to keep in mind when buying one. So let's start with some positive thoughts : - Generally I still like all Aigo because of the Intel Atom Z500 - which is the best chip regarding power saving. Don...

Re: Gaming laptops

Actually interesting piece of hardware, definitely gonna keep that brand in mind. I don't think they're very popular in Germany though (Where i reside, doh!). Well currently there are so many things I'm saving for (New family car would be nice. my BMW is still working but god knows how long...), so ...

Re: HTTPS configuration, enable TLS v1.3 and v1.2, disable all the older versions

Hi there, I have no influence on the status of SSL with my hoster. I guess you get what you pay for and since I only spend 4.95 USD per month for this page (including the .com domain) I am surprised I got SSL anyways (originally it was only available for extra money - which i never spent). Anyways -...

Re: Gaming laptops

I do like the idea of the MXM cards - however they are rather rare and besides some old ones from stone age also not very cheap, so not sure if I'd spend a fortune if one with a soldered GPU is cheaper. So far i only had soldered GPUs and never problems - maybe luck or maybe the fact that i can usua...

Re: HTTPS configuration, enable TLS v1.3 and v1.2, disable all the older versions

Aight I found the mixed content issue. One was an absolute HHTP link to the forum which i replaced by "../Forums". The other one is actually dumb and I'd call this a "bug" in firefox or at least "questionable". It was the "base href" meta tag. In this example ...

Re: HTTPS configuration, enable TLS v1.3 and v1.2, disable all the older versions

Oh wow we got HTTPS... I never noticed. How generous of my hoster to provide a free SSL certificate. Yeah the mixed content is pretty obvious since I use some absolute links i think (like http://server/image i guess). Imma look into that when i got some spare time. Not sure about SSL 1.3 - gotta loo...
