Hello,
I have Highscreen Handy Organizer.
I was looking for SRAM card, but they are too expensive. So I want ask you if you can type me some other cheaper memory cards thats work in this palmtop. I have CF card with adapter to PCMCIA but its 5mm thin so I cant insert it into Highscreen.
thanks

It depends on the adaptor. Generally you are right - the Type I slot is a bit too tight and takes some force, but yeah it can be possible to squeeze a Type II card into a type I slot. SRAM cards should always be Type I and Flash won't work.

There also used to be an adaptor thingy from Greystone periphals to convert Type I slot to Type II and III, but it was a bit uncomfortable since you'd have like a Type II/III HDD or card hanging out of your slot. A bit fragile... But good for a temporary solution.

Obviously SRAM would be best since Flash won't work in the Tidalwave.

SRAM cards usually start around 30-40 Euro. I have a few that i got very cheap and/or with the palmtops. If you have patience you can sometimes make a bargain on ebay, but yeah they are rare.

I would like to know:
1) What is the biggest SRAM card that I can use in Highscreen?
2) when I buy SRAM card, I have to format it on a computer or it can be formatted in Highscreen?
3) I need to install drivers in Higscreen for using SRAM cards?
thank you for answer

1) I would recommend 2MB. I have used larger cards like 4MB, but they are rare, expensive and some are just "incompatible".
2) The Highscreen can format these.
3) No, SRAM works without any drivers.

Officially you can not invert them, but theres a DOS TSR for changing the palette called CHGCOLOR, it is intended for EGA but also works with the CGA palette.
